Project Summary

Needing a centralized hub to manage multiple railyard activities with ample considerations for several working groups, Bailey Edward and TKDA provided design, bidding and construction administration services for a new 45,000 sf. two-story yard office for Union Pacific. Taking into consideration several working groups, the design divided the building into a first floor for crew/training and a second floor for office groups while providing multiple entry points and security features. Additionally, energy and cost efficient features were implemented in the building’s design by installing a HVAC system designed to meet current LEED standards, arrangements for multiple heating and cooling zones, efficient plumbing fixtures, a back-up generator, site lighting and building signage. The building layout and systems will efficiently support the day-to-day operations and infrastructure to Union Pacific and its employees.
