Nibs Preview

Now more than ever, building design needs to be innovative and resilient so that it may quickly adapt to the changes needed as we learn more and more about the new health and safety standards moving forward in this post-pandemic world. At this year’s National Institute of Building Science’s Building Innovation Conference, Bailey Edward Principal Robin Whitehurst will be joining with Cannon Design’s Carlos Amato and Perkins Eastman’s Judy Ou to discuss “Convergence of Design and Resilience in a Hospital for the Future + Minimally Invasive Laboratories.” And the best part? This virtual conference is free for all to attend!

On Tuesday, August 18th at 9am CST, Robin and Carlos will showcase their joint work on University of Illinois at Chicago’s soon-to-be complete Surgical Innovation Technology Laboratory as an example of focused resiliency against the ever-changing world around us. Judy Ou will be examining the ways in which the new Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, California is prepared to deal with the physical disruptions of earthquakes without sacrificing world-class healthcare facility needs. Together they will address the need for healthcare research facilities to be flexible and dynamic to ensure they can accommodate the latest technology and demands.

Be sure to register for this incredible pay-what-you-can conference here! Registration will grant you access not only to Robin, Carlos, and Judy’s session, but all of the sessions slated to take place over the two-day virtual conference.
