A Gift for the Ages - Tour UIUC's renovated Lincoln Hall
UIUC's renovated Lincoln Hall is this Fall's must-see attraction in the Urbana-Champaign area. Celebrated as a 'new Gift for the Ages', the century old campus icon's rehabilitated marble foyer, gold leaf adornments and green technologies are drawing crowds of visitors.
In the early Spring, the American Institute of Architects Central Illinois Chapter completed a second of two tours of the facility. The first tour was undertaken while the building renovations were under construction. "The AIA Central Illinois Chapter is a great group, they routinely find new and interesting ways to educate and share member accomplishments. The follow up tour of UIUC’s Lincoln Hall is one such example." shared Bailey Edward's Karla Smalley.
"Ron Harrison of Cannon Design and I were able to walk through the nearly completed renovation with AIACI members – many members had toured the facility a year ago when the project was deep in the construction phase. ‘Before’ and ‘after’ in an up close and personal way is one of the best exercises for true architectural appreciation. It was a pleasure to share our hard work with our peers." added Smalley.
Don't miss your opportunity to tour this historic gem. Register today for the Lincoln Hall Open House on Saturday, October 27th during Homecoming Weekend.
