Community | Past Forward Conference Sponsorship

Past Forward

This November, preservationists from around the country will gather in Chicago for Past Forward, the National Preservation Conference, held by the National Trust for Historic Preservation in partnership with Landmarks Illinois. The conference begins November 14th at the Palmer House Hilton and runs through the 17th , hosting a series of speaking engagements, leadership training, learning labs, field studies, and networking events to educate and unite historic preservationists. Past Forward will focus on exploring the next generation of preservation through four extensive themes: reurbanism, technology, health, and connections.

At Bailey Edward, we have a passion for upholding community landmarks and are dedicated to maintaining the historic fabric of those buildings. With Bailey Edward’s dedication to preserving national treasures, we are proud to serve as a Bungalow-Level Sponsor of the conference. Both Robin Whitehurst and Susan Turner, two of our preservation specialists, will be attending the conference, joined by Sara Gaum and Zach Clark for the opening night reception at the Chicago Athletic Association.

Many of our projects involve bringing a historic building into a modern, contemporary environment and finding the balance between accommodating a contemporary facility’s needs and preserving the historic integrity of a building. Bailey Edward has worked on over 200 projects involving historic structures, including Historic Landmark designations, and structures listed on and eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. Bailey Edward’s sponsorship of this event is our way to support people and organizations who feel as passionately as we do about the importance of preserving our historic structures.
