Projects | PBC Awards Six Projects to Bailey Edward
In March, everyone experiences the luck of the Irish and Bailey Edward was awarded a contract for the renovations of six Chicago Park District (CPD) buildings just before lucky St. Patrick’s Day. As a pre-qualified firm with extensive historic preservation and public building renovation experience, Bailey Edward was invited by the Public Building Commission of Chicago to interview as Architect of Record on various CPD projects.
The scope of the projects include renovations and repairs to various CPD buildings including: water infiltration issues, roof replacement, repairs to historic landmark buildings, masonry repairs, and ADA accessibility. Each of the projects is part of the CPD Capital Improvement Program with additional funding from the State of Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) Park and Recreational Facility Construction Program (PARC) Grant Program. As public buildings actively used by their communities, all projects be substantially completed by summer 2018.
Using our well-established retainer project management system to keep these projects in budget and on schedule, Bailey Edward has already conducted initial kick-off meetings and walk-throughs for each project. We look forward to working with the PBC, CPD, Illinois Historic Preservation Agency, and local communities to restore, renovate, and repair these public buildings so they can serve a long useful life.
