Project Summary

With a fashionable urban location in the South Loop of downtown Chicago, 1111 South Wabash is a luxury living high-rise with coveted views of Lake Michigan. The multi-family condominium building borders Grant Park and offers residents sweeping vistas of the park, city and lake.

Located in the Lakefront Protection District of Chicago, 1111 South Wabash needed committee approval since its 36 stories would be visible from Grant Park and the lakefront. The building location made panoramic lake views possible, but required careful planning to take full advantage of this value. The design team knew lakefront views were a priority and laid out the typical floors in an “L-shape” to maximize the number of rooms with lakefront views, increasing the value of the property.

One, two and three bedroom units feature contemporary finishes, spacious rooms and floor-to-ceiling windows. A business center, conference rooms and fitness center are available for the resident’s use. On the rooftop, a swimming pool and sundeck offer residents comfortable outside community space amidst the downtown skyline.

The building steps inward on the top floors to create dramatic two-story units with roof terraces, balconies and dramatic views. The design adds dimension to the Chicago skyline and offers residents both lake and cityscape views.

At the street level, the building offers retail storefronts and a six-level parking garage. Its proportions fit in well with the scale of the block and the retail space activates the street.

The units sold out very quickly due to the desirable location in the heart of South Loop, the modern design of the units and luxury amenities encompassed in the building.
