Project Summary

The new 3-story M.T. Geoffrey Yeh Student Center is located at the Northeast corner of the existing Newmark Hall College of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) building. It provides approximately 22,200 gross sq. ft. of interdisciplinary educational area and associated support spaces including, but not limited to, a large lecture hall, several classrooms, student design laboratories and student collaboration spaces as well as a pre-function lounge area all reinforced with audio-visual and technology infrastructure.

This $5.08 million addition enables the CEE to essentially teach all of its undergraduate and graduate courses within the same facility for the first time.

Design Vignette

The Newmark Hall College of Civil and Environmental Engineering Building is designed to meet LEED Silver and boasts a green roof. Design efforts on this project were honored by the American Council of Engineering Companies Illinois Chapter with the Special Achievement Award.
