The design speaks of strength and durability — certainly a significant message for a consumer banking business, congratulations to Bailey Edward for a job well done. — Chair of the NAHB Commercial Builders Council
Freestar Bank’s mission is to provide knowledgeable, reliable financial services in a comfortable, casual atmosphere. Important to the image and reputation of Freestar Bank is the design goal posed to Bailey Edward that each of their branch locations portray a sense of stability and steadfastness.
Branch amenities teller service counters, offices and support spaces, a large central lobby, a conference room, and three lanes of drive-up service stations located under a canopy. The entry tower element was chosen for its recognized qualities of providing strategic positioning and far-reaching observation for the security of those under its protection. The use of brick on the exterior further reinforces FREESTAR’s brand identity echoing characteristics such as strength and durability.
Bailey Edward designed the bank’s interior to reflect the client’s desire for a comfortable, casual atmosphere. Warm toned millwork is found in teller areas and personal banker offices and a gas fireplace and plush furniture are located in the lobby that work together to emanate a welcoming approach. The Philo Road, Urbana location was honored by the NAHB Commercial Builders Council with an Award of Merit.
